Onekama is a truly special location on both Portage Lake and Lake Michigan. Portage Lake is a deep, wide, clean bottom lake with great fishing in the summer and the winter. It freezes all the way across in the winter, and you can drive your snowmobiles or trucks right out to your shanty. Portage Lake flows via a channel out to Lake Michigan at the Historic Portage Point- Home of the Portage Point Inn. There's lots of Public Access on both lake shores for summer or winter enjoyment.
During the winter, Onekama is a sleepy little town with great ice fishing and snowmobiling activities. But in the summer is a whole different story. Onekama comes alive in during the summer season, with lots of tourists, summer people and people passing through on their way up scenic M22. All the little shops, parks and restaurants open up in the Summer, giving you plenty to do. Onekama is also home to the Manistee County Fair.

These iconic mini cottages, known as the Dollhouses are part of the historic Portage Point Inn & Marina. You have access and use of the resort amenities such as the beachfront on both Portage Lake and Lake Michigan, the infinity edge pool and hot tub. Currently, you own both Dollhouse 3 and 4 until a new sewer septic system is developed. At this point one new, larger cottage will have to be build. The new cottage just needs to fit within the 28' x 40' property envelope. These are income generators from mid May to mid September. Until a new cottage is built, these cottages have limited heat and have to be winterized by the end of October.
